Painted in famille rose enamels around the exterior with three fruiting sprays of pomegranate, finger-citron and lychee, all together known as the auspicious san duo or ’Three Abundances’, the foliage of the fruit delicately shaded, the green leaves slightly yellowing, on one side a shou character, the cover similarly decorated, all on a cafe-au-lait ground, the base with a red seal mark of Daoguang.
