A group of Staffordshire and Coalport, decorated with birdscomprising a mid-19th century presentation mug inscribed 'A Present from Staffordshire Potteries', unusually painted with fancy birds at rest in and in flight, 11cm high; a Coalport canted oval dessert dish, circa 1815-20, unmarked but matching pattern 759, 30cm wide; a Coalport low twin-handled comport dish, pattern 6829/E, green printed factory mark, 8.5cm high; a Coalport 'Etruscan' shape trio with angular handles, circa 1818, decorated with a simulated scale blue ground and enamelled birds in cartouches, unmarked; a nicely decorated Coalport coffee cup and saucer, featuring wild birds against a pale turquoise ground, similar to the painter John Randall's later style, circa 1860; a Coalport Etruscan cream jug, with angular handle, circa 1818, decorated with two opposing panels, and a modern Coalport dessert dish in the Cairo pattern, 24.5cm wide(10) Provenance: The Malcolm Sargeant Collection. Coalport pattern 759 - Has been in three pieces and crudely re-glued.Staffordshire mug - Crazing and Y-crack to base.Coalport comport dish - Crack running from rim, extending approx 9cm inwards. Crazing around the upper bird.Coalport 'Etruscan' shape trio - Coffee cup with two-section repair to rim, measuring approx 3.5cm w x 2cm deep, handle gilding also rubbed. Teacup and saucer both in a generally good condition but the saucer is yellowed and has some rubbing of gilding to the centre and around the rim.Pale turquoise Coalport coffee cup and saucer - faint 0.5cm long hairline visible to upper rim of the cup, some rubbing to the gilt dentil rims on both pieces.Etruscan jug - Some losses to green enamels, rubbing gilding in interior, two restored rim chips.
