A Korean metal-bound figured and lacquered softwood chest, 20th century, of rectangular outline and applied with embossed metal spandrels, bosses and lock hasp, lacquered and figured in a rosewood style with recessed black lacquered edges, raised on short bracket feet, the hinged top opening to a conforming figured interior and lift-out tray, 61cm wide x 31cm deep x 33.5cm high. Generally good overall with some signs of use, particularly to the hasp.
