   提要：全国石窟大面积摩崖刻经的出现，最早始于河北的响堂山石窟。响堂山石窟刻经和其造像一样，笔锋犀利,刚劲挺拔，均为八分书，即二分楷书、八分隶字和合而成，但其中又兼有篆意。刀法洗练清熟，给刻经锦上增彩，给人一种读之忘归、欲走不能的意境。响堂山石窟的刻经及其书法艺术，无论对研究佛教史、佛经刊刻史、书法史都具有非常重要的价值。
