花觚造型取自商周青铜，原为酒具，自宋代开始生产瓷质觚，其功能亦由酒具转变为陈设用器。明末清初之际，瓷质花觚开始大量制作，尤以康熙时最盛。花觚中部突起，以锦文和回纹分隔，上下部均绘山水高士人物景致，或聚会闲谈，或高士访友，或湖心泛舟。整体绘画流畅，青花发色艳丽，分水层次清晰，颇为难得。
