Note: This remarkable and evocative landscape dates to c.1765, during Diziani's first period of activity. Son of the painter Gaspare Diziani, Antonio was predominantly a landscapist, whose work was close in tone to the lyrical-pastoral scenes of Francesco Zuccarelli and Giuseppe Zais. His signature flickering brushstrokes can be seen here throughout the landscape as well as in the charming foreground figures.
