This coat is made of azure satin and embroidered with eight crane emblems. The emblems consist of three layers - a crane holding a lingzhi at the center, followed by a ring of twelve colorful butterflies, and then a ring of more butterflies playing among the flowers. These patterns are also found on the shoulders and sleeves, along with patterns of the "eight treasures" and wave motifs. Additional "eight treasures" and wave motifs appear at the bottom end of the robe, along with embroidered scenes of the sea and rocky cliffs. Made for the wife or mother of a first rank official of late Qing Dynasty, this robe has a delicate features, exquisite ornamentation, and dignified color scheme. For a similar item, see the Palace Museum, No. 00044472, as seen in figure 1. 吉服，又稱「盛服」，是上至帝後妃嬪，下至王公文武百官及公主、命婦在舉行冬至、慶壽等一應嘉禮及某些吉禮、軍禮活動之時，所穿戴的冠服。 此褂石青緞面，褂身繡八團團鶴紋。團鶴紋飾共有三層，仙鶴口銜靈芝居於正中，外層是十二只五彩斑斕的彩蝶，最外層是眾多彩蝶飛梭在美麗的花團中，袖邊均為黑色緞地上繡同款紋飾，袖端八寶立水之上另繡有小型團鶴紋。下幅為海水江崖與八寶立水紋。織工細膩，紋飾精致，配色端莊大氣，為晚清一品誥命夫人著裝。 參閱故宮博物院館藏，編號故00044472，見圖1。
