Description
Translation provided by Youdao
Ca. 1300 AD The great helm is composed of five riveted sheets of iron, four of which stand upright and are covered with an overlapping oval-shaped, flat top. The round top rivets are hand-forged, following the usual forgery techniques from the 12th 14th centuries. The cross-connection on the front side, the appearance of the two cut-out crosses, on either side, as well as large, small visor holes referring to an origin in the 13th century. The item has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements. The full authentication report will accompany the purchase. Size: L: 340 mm W: 220 mm; 4,8 kg. Provenance: Property of an European collector; formerly in Ing. P. Till collection till 1999; previously bought in Vienna in 1971; formerly sold in Paris in 1926. The item will be accompanied by copies of three previous original invoices.
