Ca. 600 AD A very elegant pair of Byzantine gold earrings, each composed of a hollow hoop with a hinged fastening and an openwork design of a filigree wheeled cross accompanied by scrolls composition. Each earring is decorated with three pendants made up of a gold wire chain, that ends in amethysts and emerald beads with small pearls secured at the bottom with a knot. The item has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
