Ca. 11th-13th Century AD Two Medieval utility knife blades. One is long one short, both are of a triangular section but the shape of each varies. From very long and thin to short and dumpy! Such cutlers knives were popular through Roman to Tudor times. These blades are most likely early medieval, they would have had a simple bone or wooden handles. The surface is lightly pitted on one, heavily pitted on the other, shorter blade. Otherwise the condition is good. Size: L:Set of 2: 255-522mm / W:26-41mm ; 305g Provenance: Property of a European collector; formerly in an old English collection.
