The lower part of the torchiere has a spiral-shaped groove that reaches the neck, from where a small palmette surrounds the perimeter and leads to the central body, which is decorated with acanthus leaves. The torch bearers are the bearers of light, usually in the form of candles lit on candlesticks. The light is a symbol of joy and festivity. Torcheros and turiferarios honour God, Jesus Christ, the Virgin and the saints, but above all they are celebrating the heavenly liturgy as the devotion is carried out in heaven.
