In 1867 its owners Hessenberg & Wiersing were appointed court jewellers to the Queen of Württemberg, the Duke of Baden and the Duke of Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. They opened a second shop in Bad Homburg in 1890, but due to the economic depression and two World Wars their silver production decreased dramatically, and they ceased production in the late 1950s
