|笔筒为紫檀木整挖而成，雕作树桩形，周身雕琢树瘿，瘿节布局错落有致，千奇百状，似天然生出，若干树瘿镂空处理。落款“东山谢峒家藏”。树瘿纹是明代以后雕刻艺术中常表现的题材。整器浑然天成，意趣隽然。特别是瘿纹的处理，结构丰实，疏密得体。作品风格是文人所追求的返璞归真的境界。
