鬲形之器，古来有之，石器时代有陶鬲，商周时期有青铜鬲，鬲式炉即为此形制，合裆为腹，去耳平口，早在宋、明时期即为流行炉式之一，为历代文人雅士所爱。此炉为清早期的鬲式炉，口沿宽平，折沿束颈，鼓腹下收，顺势出三足，矮而粗壮，足底平阔，置地有力，整器线条凝练，浑厚沉着，中正大气，颇有明炉遗风。
