Jack SmithÕs mature style incorporated musical symbols, collage and geometric forms to create a distinctive style, reminiscent of the visionary Modernists of the early 20th century such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. His work was shown at the 1956 Venice Biennale and was the youngest artist to have a solo show at the Whitechapel Gallery in 1971.
