Property of various owners TSUDA EIJU (1915-2000)A Bronze Flower Vase Showa era (1926-1989), mid-late 20th century Cast with a bowl-shaped body and a conical neck rising to an everted mouth, a deep groove between the two section and with a single ring-handle to one side, patinated in mottled red and brown tones, the base cast with a seal-style signature Eiju With a wood tomobako storage box signed and inscribed Chūdō kazarimimi hanaire Eiju (Cast bronze flower vase with a decorative handle, Eiju) and sealed Eiju 7 1/2in (18.9cm) high A pupil and successor of Tsuda Shinobu (1875-1946, see lot 761), Tsuda Eiju showed his work at the special exhibition celebrating the 2600th anniversary of the imperial line, held in 1940, and won several prizes at the Nitten exhibition during the post-war period.
