A Very Fine Chinese Gilt Wood Sculpture of Weituo Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), a wooden guardian statue depicting Weituo (also known as the Buddhist Bodhisattva Skanda), with red, brown, and black pigments and areas covered in fine gilding, he wears ornate chainmail style armor adorned with very finely carved details and many ferocious lion heads, he stands firm and proud atop a red painted base with his hands in anjalimudra, his face is wide and features slender painted eyes and a peaceful expression beneath a helmet adorned with flowers, a celestial scarf billows upwards behind him.
