J.-C) A YELLOW JADE 'GRAIN' DISC, BI Warring States Period/Han Dynasty (475 BC-220 AD) Finely carved in relief to each side with evenly spaced 'spiral grain' bosses, between narrow raised bands to the inner and outer rims, the finely polished stone of yellowish green tone with some areas of creamy russet inclusions. 12.1cm (4 6/8in) diam. Provenance: Robert Rousset, Paris (1901-1981), acquired prior to 1935 Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021) pare with a pale green jade 'grain' pattern bi disc of similar size and proportion, late Warring States period, illustrated by Sun Qingwei, Jades of Warring States Period , Taipei, 2007, p.70, pl.19.
