Codesido known for her expressive style, gained popularity fast in Peru and abroad. Her first solo exhibition was held in the Alcedo National Music Academy hall in 1929 and later in San Marcos University in Lima, Peru. Codesido's works also have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, NY. The work presented at the auction belongs to the artist's rare early works. In the center of the composition of Frutera Ayacuchana is an indeginous Peruvia woman selling fruit.The red cloak and the inclined hat frame the young woman's face and and the green skirt highlights her even more, contrasting with the background of the roof tiles and the steert view.
