OTTOMAN DALA'IL AL-KHAYRAT PRAYER BOOK OF AL-JAZULIManuscript on paper, 91 folios plus one at the end, 11 lines of text per page in Naskhi script in black and red ink, punctuated with gilt rosettes, in a large gilt frame and blue and red lines. Cartridges illuminated with vegetal foliage in polychromy on a gold background giving the titles of each section in red ink or left blank. Richly illuminated double-page frontispiece: polylobed cartouche decorated with vegetal foliage punctuated with rosettes, floral margins made up of lotus flowers alternating with saz leaves. At the heart of the book, a double-page illuminated with illustrations of the Kaaba and the mosque of Medina framed by a floral margin in bright colors and preceded by a list of the different names of the Prophet. Second illuminated double page for the title of "Saturday". Other titles in illuminated cartouches. A few marginal illuminations inposite flowers with a heart of gold. Brown leather binding with gilt decoration of polylobed medallion with double pendant and four spandrels, decorated with palmettes. Interior dishes covered with marbled paper.Out of text, later inscriptions: owner's mark dated 1292H/1875-76 on the flyleaf.
