A Chinese Canton export lacquer work table, early to mid-19th century, painted in gilt with figural landscape panels, butterflies and flowers on a dark brown/black ground, the hinged lid revealing a compartmentalized interior, raised on turned legs united by a stretcher, the carved giltwood feet in the form of dragons, height 71.7cm, width 64cm, depth 42.8cm (minor faults).
