A CHINESE PAINTED ENAMEL QUADRILOBED DISH Qing Dynasty, Qianlong mark and of the period Of shallow quadrilobed form, the interior painted with flowerheads amidst archaistic chilong motifs and scrolling stems issuing blossoms, all on a blue ground, the exterior decorated with undulating leafy stems dotted with blooming lotus flowers, the base with a four character Qianlong mark within a double square, 18.2cm long Note: The Qianlong emperor was very fond of trompe-l`œil, and during his lifetime he commissioned many works of art that employed the technique, overseeing the production of objects imitating bronze, wood and cloisonné enamels, to name a few. The latter medium is emulated in this quatrelobed dish, with painted enamels simulating the motifs and colours found in cloisonné enamel objects from this time. 清乾隆 銅胎畫琺瑯花卉海棠式盤 「大清乾隆年製」款
