Jacop Kornerup, Danish 1825-1913- Portrait of a gentleman, bust-length, wearing a fur hat; oil on canvas, signed and dated 'J. Kornerup 1865' (lower left), signed, dated, and indistinctly inscribed 'Jens Klobker / Roskilde 1865 / J. Kornerup p' on the reverse of the upper stretcher bar, 36.5 x 27.4 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Kornerup was a Danish painter and archaeologist, with a particular interest in the restoration of historic buildings throughout Denmark.
