Henri Farré, French / American 1871-1934- Portrait of a woman, head and shoulders, wearing pink; oil on canvas, signed and dated ‘HFARRE. 96’ (centre right), 41 x 32.6 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Farré studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Gustave Moreau (1826-1898). After his education, he moved to Buenos Aires and painted society portraits and landscapes, and it is likely that the present work was conceived during this time. While abroad, he submitted paintings for the Paris Salon every year from 1897 until 1914. With the outbreak of the First World War, he returned to France and was commissioned to paint the aviation forces and the aerial battles they participated in. As a result he received the awards of the Légion d'Honneur and the Croix de Guerre. 品相报告: Please refer to department for condition report
