A Paris porcelain (Darte) cup and a saucer, c.1820, gilt Darte Freres a Paris mark to cup, saucer with removed mark and green 61. mark, the cup formed as a pink rose, the stem handle with leaf terminals and issuing from a meandering stem wrapped around the footrim, the interior richly gilt, the saucer painted with radiating rose-leaves within a serrated gilt line rim, the cup 7.8cm high Provenance: Starling Collection, No. C80 (according to the paper labels attached to the undersides). There is some slight wear to the gilding on the interior of the cup, and some minute areas of wear to the enamels on the footrim – these faults are very minor. The saucer has some minute areas of wear to the gilt line rim and to the gilt circle borders near the centre – this is also very minor.
