黄永玉、中国画院院士，1924年7月9日出生在湖南省常德县（今常德市鼎城区），祖籍为湖南省的凤凰县城。土家族人。笔名黄杏槟、黄牛、牛夫子。其钟爱荷花被称为“荷痴”，不单是缘于他画的荷花多，还在于他画的荷花独树一帜，神韵盎然。曾在中国美术馆举办个人画展。并出版《中国近现代名家画集.黄永玉》等作品。
