(Artist Print); it has been made by the artist himself/ made under his supervision.Born in Pabna, Bangladesh, Anisuzzaman obtained his degree in printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, in 1993. He subsequently obtained two masters degrees in print making from the universities of Rabindra Bharti, Kolkata and Tama Art, Tokyo in 1997 and 2008 respectively. He also trained at the Glasgow Print Studio and the London Print Studio in 2004. He is fascinated by the city and depicts urban architecture, the construction of human habitation and the city's morphology in geometricized compositions as evidenced in the two lots on offer in this auction. These colours employed in these single or multicoloured compositions are subtle, so as to not distract from the subject. His works have been exhibited in the UK, the USA, China, India, Tokyo, Malaysia, France and Japan and feature in the collections of the Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka; the China Printmaking Museum, Guanlan; Istanbul Museum of Graphic Arts, Istanbul and City Museum of Graphic Arts, Tokyo to name a few. He is the recipient of the 2011 International Print Prize, 3rd Guanlan International Print Biennial, Shenzen, China; the 2012 Triennale Prize, Bangkok, Thailand and the 2017 Bangladesh Shikpakala Academy Honourable Award.
