Each 8.3cm (3 1/4in) high (2).十七/十八世紀 椰殼雕竹林高士壺一對The scholars enjoying wine depicted on the present pair of teapots are probably part of the 'Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove' group with bamboo included in the garden landscape. Similar subject is also found on bamboo, wood and ivory carvings; compare the design of the present lot to the carved chenxiangmu 'Jiao Sui' cup offered in this sale, lot 144.二壺形製裝飾類同，取陳年椰殼去頭尾，大孔作底，小孔作口，內裡包錫，外壁減地浮雕山石松竹，其間再雕一高士席地而坐，前有一童子持壺侍酒，另一側雕一高士踞床半躺，伸手欲接身前童子遞來酒杯，壺口沿下雕如意雲頭一周，前後安錫流鋬，鋬下浮雕一「壽」字。 此壺所雕人物或為東晉竹林七賢，或為唐代飲中八仙之二。東晉竹林七賢以詩酒音樂、狂放不羈為名，其中以劉伶最為詩酒，《晉書·列傳十九·劉伶》記載「天生劉伶，以酒為名。」杜甫曾作《飲中八仙歌》贊詠長安城中以酒為名之八位高士，分別是李白、賀知章、李適之、李璡、崔宗之、蘇晉、張旭、焦遂。此二壺畫面中因有竹林，較為可能為竹林七賢中人物。竹木牙雕工匠往往運用不同材質進行創作，雕刻風格及圖樣多源自相似母本。如本對壺所雕山石竹木風格與本場另一拍品144沉香木雕焦遂杯極為相似。
