1980/87. Oil and gouache over aquatint in colours/paper. 49 x 66 cm. Lo. ri. sign. and dat. Yagan 80/87 as well as inscribed in Arabic. Zustand Matted and framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - Provenance: Bought by the consignor directly from the artist in Aleppo in the late 1980s. - Syrian artist. Y. studied art at the universities of Aleppo and Damascus. There he founded 'The Point', a center for art and literature. Successes in the Middle East were soon followed by exhibitions in the US and Europe. His paintings express the richness and contradictions of modern urban life through vibrant colors and dynamic forms in static compositions.
