English Georgian sterling silver salver - London 1921, mark of CATCHPOLE & WILLIAMSof circular form resting on four feet decorated with masks of satyrs, grape vines and pampinus; the brim is richly decorated with vegetal scrolls, grape vines and pampinus. In the centre is the following inscription: "Presented by the Members of the Centon Durf Club To Their President His Excellency Sir William Henry Manning G C M G H B G C B Gobernor of Ceylon 23th March 1925". Sterling silver, fully hallmarked London 1921-22, silversmiths Catchpole & Williams. On the backside the iscription:"CATCHPOLE & WILLIAMS - 510 OXFORD STREET - LONDON W. - SILVERSMITHS TO THE KING - BY APPOINTMENT".Height x diameter 8 x 63 cm. Weight ca. 6400 g.
