Description A view looking northward from the Penha area across the Praia Grande sweeping away to the right, with Penha Hill in the left foreground, showing a.o. the Governor`s Palace/Macau Government Headquarters (Palácio do Barão do Cercal) built in 1849, the Church of St. Paul (Igreja de São Paulo) in a representation before the 1935 fire, the American flag and several Portuguese flags, one of them flying above Fort Monte (Fortaleza do Monte) with the church São Domingos beneath, the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady (Igreja da Sé), rebuilt in stone after the typhoons of 1847/48, and presumably the Church of São Francisco, in its state before its destruction in 1861, at the point of the bay.
