A large German Westerwald stoneware jar and cover with pseudo 1637 date, the pear shaped body of typical grey colour, incised and relief decorated with blue highlighted coats of arms and medallions with scrolling flowers and foliage, beneath a band of animal head masks and foliate medallions, unmarked, height 46cm.
