说明：此器铜质精粹，沉甸至极。铸成胡人戏狮状，雄狮四肢健硕矫健，盘踞于前。胡人双目圆睁，鬃髯盘旋如螺髻，丝丝毕现，双袖蹁飞，似在舞蹈。胡人形象入工艺品装饰始于唐而盛于唐，其后减少，及至明代中晚期，随着中西贸易往来的覆苏，工艺品中又开始出现胡人形象。胡人戏狮题材当归入八蛮进宝范畴，为当时社会繁荣昌盛、万邦来朝的现实反映，寓意国力强盛、天下太平，题材多用于皇室宫殿陈设。
