Description A LACQUER STAND FOR A HIBACHI (BRAZIER), EDOJapan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868)The top of a square form, set on four cabriole legs and fitted with a circular metal ash basin, decorated in gold hiramaki-e with scrolling and blossoming vines on a roiro-nuri ground, perched with heart-shaped apertures, the silvered metal hardware with a finely incised floral décor.HEIGHT 15 cm, LENGTH 27.6 cm, DIAMETER (ash basin) 21 cm WEIGHT 1749 gCondition: Good condition with minor traces of wear and age, malachite encrustations, small cracks to the lacquer, and a restoration the apron of one leg.Provenance: Czech private collection.
