Embossed "MADOURA PLEIN FEU" and "EDITION PICASSO" on the stand and with the incised edition marks "Edition Picasso Madoura" and limited "75 / 500" on the black base and inscribed "R. 147". In 1946 Picasso worked with ceramics for the first time in the Madoura pottery in Vallauris, after he had met its owners George and Suzanne Ramié. Fascinated by the creative possibilities of clay as a material, he began his intensive exploration and left behind a total of around 4,000 ceramic objects. Im Stand mit den Prägestempeln "MADOURA PLEIN FEU" und "EDITION PICASSO" und auf schwarzem Fond mit den geritzten Editionsvermerken "Edition Picasso Madoura" und limitiert "75 / 500" sowie bezeichnet "R. 147". 1946 arbeitete Picasso erstmals in der Töpferei Madoura in Vallauris mit Keramik, nachdem er deren Besitzer George und Suzanne Ramié kennengelernt hatte. Fasziniert von den Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten des Materials begann er seine intensive Auseinandersetzung und hinterließ schließlich insgesamt rund 4.000 keramische Objekte.
