Ca. 200-300 AD. A bronze door knock shaped as a lion head handle cast in high relief within a circular border. The animal's head modelled with a prominent browline and eyes, a ring in its gaping jaw. Nicely detailed mane frames the face. This piece probably served as a furniture mount and handle, possibly a chest. Cf.
