Ca. 100-200 AD. A beautiful bronze panther brooch with a slender, stretched body with recessed circles to accept enamel inlays. Catchplate to the reverse. In ancient Greek mythology, the panther was commonly associated with the god Dionysus, who used a panther as his preferred mount.
