This lot may have appeared in Warsaw, then disappeared, now it's back again.This is a large, well made, heavy jar, beautifully painted with trees. birds, butterflies, etc.  Note that painting is only on the front.   I do not know the age precisely, but it is at most 19th century.   Its shape gives it an impressive feel, and the painting is very well done.   When this was in the store, some people told us that the painting was definitely Japanese, others that the manufacture was Chinese.   We are knowledgeable but not expert. The last picture is this jar (birds, trees) next to another jar (grapes) we are listing today.   They were used together in the estate from which we eventually acquired them, but they are not a pair.  The other jar sold for $450
