“梅瓶”这一雅称直至清末《陶雅》一书中才真正出现，民国初年许之衡在《引流斋说瓷》中写到：“梅瓶，口小而项短，肩极宽博，至颈稍狭折，于足则微丰。口径之小仅与梅之瘦骨相称，故名梅瓶。”本品圆唇，短颈折沿，器身修长，下腹渐收，通体内外施黑釉，足心挂釉，釉色如墨似漆，色泽纯正，端秀雅致，比例精妙，素黑釉发色绝伦，属此类品种上品。如此立件保存至今，品相仍完整，又气质婀娜典雅，胎釉较佳，特别难得。
