此盏器型周正，口沿一周施白釉，此种以白釉装饰口沿的方法又被称为“白覆轮”。日语中“覆轮”有“镶边”之意，如金覆轮、银覆轮就是口沿扣金或扣银。而“白覆轮”不仅指口沿施白釉的工艺，也指以这种工艺装饰的瓷碗本身。盏内外施黑釉，釉不及底，色如钳黑，与“白覆轮”的乳白色泽对比反差强烈，装饰新颖，堪称佳品。
