释文: 以山子作为案头清供在宋代时就已蔚然成风，发展至明清时期更为流行，而以紫砂为材的作品较为罕见，故十分珍贵。实则以紫砂的材质十分适宜表现山石的坚毅冷峻之感。此件紫砂山子，以一粗壮山形柱为主体，另有侧脉分支而出，恰可作为主体的支撑，设计十分巧妙。观其形制及大小，不排除其在清代曾作为山子形笔搁使用的可能性。太平岩位于温州永嘉县沙头镇，岩奇水美，为灵秀之山川。紫砂山子之上多层皱褶，如山上岩石之肌理，妙趣异常。
