徐悲鸿（1895-1953），江苏宜兴人。二十岁赴沪谋生时，结识高奇峰，书法得康有为亲授，曾入震旦大学学习绘画，并考察德、比、意国美术。1944年任中国美术学院院长，1946年任北平艺专校长，1950年任中央美术学院院长、中华全国美术工作者协会主席。
