A BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, TIBET, 15TH CENTURYSeated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base with beaded rims, his hands in bhumisparsha mudra, clad in a sanghati with beaded and incised hems, the folds gathering below the feet, the face with a serene expression marked by downcast eyes centered by an urna, flanked by pierced, pendulous earlobes, the hair in tight curls over the ushnisha surmounted by a jewel.Provenance: From an old Croatian private collection. According to the family, the statue was acquired in Asia in the early 1950s.Condition: Good condition with minor wear, rubbing to the gilt, few nicks, small dents, and light scratches, remnants of red lacquer, and casting flaws.
