拍品描述:Modeled in the form of a large Peach of Immortality resting on its stem with two side leaves, applied with a lutrous transparent glaze with blue cast The peach is commonly regarded as a symbol of longevity due to its association with the Daoist deity, Shoulao, who is known as the god of longevity. It was a very popular subject for scholarly objects during Joseon Dynasty and many water droppers similar to the present lot were produced. For another water dropper, see Masterpieces from Ewha Womans University Museum, exh. cat. (Seoul: Ewha Womans University Museum, 1999), pl. 131; Choi Sunu, ed., Peakja (Porcelain), vol. 2 of Hanguk eui mi (Korea‘s beauty) (Seoul: Joong-ang Ilbo Sa, 1997), pl. 27.
