Description Collection of three flown film fragments from the lunar surface, filmed during the Apollo 11 mission. Affixed to a certificate of authenticity; numbered 15/69.These fragments are from the collection of Dick Underwood and are from film magazines Q, R, and S. Dick Underwood, a NASA Supervisory Aerospace Technologist, assisted in acquiring camera equipment including the Hasselblad 70mm camera used for many early missions. He processed the films and salvaged the leaders and tails from each roll of flown film. The segments offered here were from the three film magazines that traveled to the lunar surface with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. Magazine Q held black and white film white magazines R and S held color film. Magazines Q and R were used to take photos from inside the Lunar Module. Magazine S was used on the EVA to capture 125 photos including all iconic images of the lunar surface.Condition Report The item is in great condition with no visible tears, creases, or losses. The film fragments are kept intact under the transparent tape. There are no tears or other visible damage to the paper. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration.Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
