A rare celadon-glazed faceted jar and coverQing dynasty, Yongzheng period 清雍正 粉青釉四方雙繫蓋罐(2)Height 5¼ in., 13.5 cmThe cover: broken in pieces and restored, with associated chips, including a rim chip approx. 0.7 cm long. The jar: the base polished. One handle restored. The inner rim with a glaze flake approx. 0.3 cm long, and two stained burst bubbles. A pair, formerly in the Meiyintang Collection, was sold twice in our Hong Kong rooms, 5th November 1996, lot 847 and 3rd April 2012, lot 5. A single jar was sold in the same rooms, 27th April 2003, lot 262, and again 5th October 2011, lot 1932. A related Qianlong mark and period celadon-glazed jar and cover, closely following the present pair in shape, but with solid handles, is in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, see Qing Kang Yong Qian ming ci tezhan / Catalog of the Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng and Ch'ien-lung Porcelain Ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty in the National Museum Palace, National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1986, cat. no. 100.
