A Japanese Satsuma earthenware bowl by Yabu Meizan, Meiji period, of steep-sided circular form, the exterior finely painted and gilt with radiating vertical panels of millefleurs, above a footrim with butterflies and gilt scrolls, the interior filled with butterflies, gilt signature to base, height 6.3cm, diameter 11.8cm.
