清仁宗爱新觉罗·颙琰，清高宗爱新觉罗·弘历第十五子。生于乾隆二十五年（1760），初名永琰，母孝仪纯皇后魏佳氏。乾隆三十八年(1773年)被密建为皇储。五十四年（1789年）被封为嘉亲王。六十年(1795年)，被正式宣布立为皇太子。第二年正月，受乾隆帝禅位继帝位。其后，朝政仍被太上皇乾隆帝控制，颙琰暂时居住在毓庆宫。嘉庆四年(1799年)，乾隆帝驾崩，开始亲政。\N
