A Chinese Daoist priest's silk embroidered robe, jiangyiQing dynasty, mid-19th centuryThe cuffs, trim, and collar finely decorated in Peking knot and metallic couched thread with clouds, mythical beasts, and auspicious symbols, the back set with a large panel similarly decorated with a pagoda encircled by phoenixes, all with borders of gold leafed paper, 130cm long x 175cm wide.Provenance: Acquired by captain André Le Gac (1895-1960) in China in the 1920s, thence by descent清十九世紀 珊瑚紅地刺繡降衣來源:André Le Gac (1895-1960)上校於1920年代購於中國,後傳承至現藏家。
