A cabinet of almost identical shape, but made of carved cinnabar lacquer and on a slightly different stand, was sold by Bonhams, New Bond Street, 3 November 2022, lot 138. The shape is rare, however, another cabinet with one horizontal top compartment, mid Qing dynasty, in the Qing Court Collection is illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Lacquer Wares of the Qing Dynasty, Hong Kong, 2006, p.68, no.45.
